Delfina H. Villarreal, age 92, affectionately known as "Fina" of Toledo, entered into eternal rest on June 6, 2024. Born on July 17, 1931 in Hebbronville, Texas. Fina was a woman of remarkable character embodying the virtues of Kindness, love, understanding and tireless dedication. Fina was preceded in passage by her parents Herminio and Flavia Gonzalez, her beloved husband Eliseo (Sam) Villarreal, her brothers Herminio Jr, Homero, Eugenio, Isreal and Rene Gonzalez and let's not forget her fur baby Lexii Lou.
Fina's life was a testament to her unwavering faith and the humility with which she walked in the footsteps of the Lord. She revered all of God's creation finding profound joy in the simple pleasures of tending to her garden where every bloom was a hymn of praise to the Creator. Her hands so often folded in prayer, were equally skilled in crafting warmth and beauty through her crocheting and in preparing meals that nourished the bodies and souls of those she cherished. Her spirit danced with a divine spark at Luna Pier Ballroom where she celebrated the gift of life with the love of her life, and all of her family and friends. Fina's heart overflowed with gratitude for every moment shared, every laugh echoed , and every dance step taken in harmony with her loved ones. She dedicated many years of her life to her career at Libby Glass from 1951-1986. Fina's commitment and hard work were evident in all that she did.
Cherished memories of Fina will be carried on by her sister Sylvia Garcia; son Herminio Villarreal, daughter Juanita Villarreal, son Ruben Villarreal, daughter Diana Smith (Richard Lewandowski), daughter Anita Barber, daughter Cynthia (Pablo) Garza; and her adored grandchildren, Ruben Villarreal Jr, Rene Villarral, Jason (Amy) Shropshire, Jeremy (Beck) Shropshire, James (Jennifer) Barber, Andrew (Megan) Barber, Alejandro Garza, Giselle (Thomas) Smith, and Brianna (Charles) Neece. Many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends for a visitation at 10am on Thursday June 13, 2024 at The Historic St Patrick Catholic Church; 130 Avondale Ave, Toledo, OH 43604. A Mass to celebrate Fina's life will follow at 11a.m. and burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to hospice of Northwest Ohio honoring Fina's compassionate spirit. The family extends a special thank you to hospice nurse, Janna.
Fina's grace and love will echo in the lives of her family and friends forever. May she rest in peace.
