Delbert E. Payne, age 64, of Toledo, Ohio passed away June 3, 2014 at St. Lukes Hospital. He was born October 12, 1949 in McComb, Ohio to Donald and Mary Payne. He was employed with Alro Steel for more than 45 years. Delbert enjoyed raising show rabbits, Ohio State Football, gardening, shopping and working at Alro Steel.
Delbert is survived by his significant other of 34 years, Leo G. Nowakowski; sister, Levera (Rolla) Miller; brother, Bradley Payne and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Delbert was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Payne.
The family will receive guests Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Graveside services will be held Monday, June 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Knollcrest Memory Gardens 18085 State Route 12 East Arcadia, Ohio. (Meet directly at the Cemetery)
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Rabbit Breeders Association Scholarship Fund in Delbert's memory.
