Deborah A. Burgess, 60, left to be with the Lord on April 4, 2014. She was born on December 7, 1953 to Alberta and Elbert Burgess Sr. in Toledo, Ohio.
Deborah was a 1971 graduate of Libbey High School. Deborah was a singer and aspiring model in California. She worked for June Boyd's Campaign and in the Spitzer Building Law office. Deborah also worked at Angelo's and Red Lobster as a cook, and played the violin. She was a creative person who enjoyed art; especially sewing, making collages and drawing. Deborah was a current member of Cornerstone Church and former member of Christ Congregational MBC where she was also the Sunday School Teacher and sang in the choir and she also loved to cook various dishes for her family.
Deborah was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Burgess and Albert Burgess Jr. and sister, Vickie Reynolds. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Cherisse Burgess, Samara Burgess, James Burgess and Sherry (Marcus) Craig; parents; siblings, Sylvia Cooper, James Burgess and Sterling (Kay) Burgess; grandchildren, Keith Johnson Jr., Bryant Williams Jr., Brittaney Williams, Marcus Tribble, Isaiah Burgess and Jaiden Craig and many other loving family members.
The family will receive guests on Friday from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 p.m.
