David A. Zawlocki

David A. "Dave" Zawlocki, age 61, passed away on January 25, 2017 from an illness that was short but seemed so very long. He was surrounded by his loving family at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania when he passed away. He was born on December 23, 1955 to Henry and Alice (Geen) Zawlocki in Muskegon, MI. Dave proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee for four years. Following his time in the military he started his 30 year career with the United States Postal Service as a clerk in the downtown Toledo office.

When Dave wasn't working he enjoyed woodworking, riding his motorcycle, camping on his property up north in Tawas, Michigan with his family, fishing on Lake Erie and spending time with his grandkids. His family will remember the delicious food that he prepared for them and above all he went above and beyond for his only daughter and granddaughter, making sure they were well provided for.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Denise (Straub) Crouch; only daughter, Lisa (Brett) McPherson; grandchildren, Aliyah and Maxwell; children by marriage, William (Jamie) Crouch, Brittany Crouch (Jessie Dorris) and Casey Crouch (Aaron Greene); grandchildren by marriage, Bianca, Alex, Eric, Kyle, Levi and Corbin; sister, Linda (Terry) Boerst; many nieces, nephews and best friends, Rick Hady and Nick Kulakowski. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Deborah L. (Swiczkowski) Zawlocki; brother, Robert Zawlocki and sister, Susan Herzig.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 5-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). His Memorial Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2017 at St. Catherine of Siena , 4555 North Haven Ave., Toledo, OH 43612, Rev. Francis J. Speier. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
