David W. "DJ" Valerio, Jr., age 25, of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly on January 29, 2016. He was born on July 9, 1990 to David Valerio Sr. and Deborah Smith in Toledo. DJ loved to work on cars, liked sports especially football. He was an avid fan of the Tampa Bay Bucs and The Ohio State Buckeyes. DJ enjoyed the time spent with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. Through the help of Teen Challenge, he cleaned up his life and found the Lord. DJ was very proud of everything he had accomplished, as were his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his grandpas, Clifford Duncan and Albert Valerio; and cousin, Billy Fisher. DJ is survived by his loving parents, Mom, Deborah (John) Smith; Dad, David (Melanie Cannon) Valerio Sr.; paternal grandma, Donna Valerio; siblings, Stephanie (James) Phillips, Meghan (Danny) Varnes, Michael (Danielle) Valerio, Casey (Scott) Lucio and Heather (Jeremy) Pierson; nephews, Dalton, Dylan, Tyler, Dean, Brayden and Maddox; nieces, Emily, Penelope, Ciara, Chloe, Kendall, Jillian and Rowen; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 3 – 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
