David Van Vlerah

David Van Vlerah, age 78, went home to be with the Lord and reunited with his beloved wife, Bartha on November 2, 2015. He was born on October 10, 1937 to the late Lola (Hoy) and Ervin Van Vlerah.

David graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1957. He married Bartha on October 18, 1958. They shared 48 wonderful years together. David and his father had a painting business together for 10 years. He then worked at and retired as the Foreman at Perrysburg Machine and Tool after 40 years. David was a long-time member of The Toledo Gospel Tabernacle and was a devout Christian. He loved his family, hunting and was a car enthusiast. David's favorite car was his '56 red and white Chevy Bel Air. He enjoyed and loved the company of his pets.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Timothy (Mary Jo), Tina (David) Brubaker, April (Tracy) Puppos and Judy (Ali) Atallah; siblings, Youvon (Robert) Coleman and Lawrence (Ruth) and grandsons, Jimmy, Andy, Brian (Stacy), Justin and Jordan. In addition to his parents and wife, David was preceded in death by his infant twin brother, Lester; brothers, Bobby, Donald; sisters, Cleah DiNardo and Nancy Sexton.

The family will receive guests from 2-8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
