David V. Brown, age 64, of Toledo, passed away Monday, April 21, 2008 in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 21, 1944 in Toledo and was the son of Theodore Dean "Ted" and Frances (Kloch) Brown. David was a graduate of the University of Toledo, receiving his BA in Business Administration. He practiced as a public accountant, operating David V. Brown Public Accountant, for more than 25 years. David loved being a coach for Trilby Baseball Association for 20 years and was also a member of the Merkle-Farley Trout Club, as well as, a volunteer with the Old Newsboys. David was an avid fisherman and enjoyed traveling to Canada with a special group of friends, sharing many good times and a prank or two, compliments of David. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He cherished the time spent with the ones he loved.
In addition to his parents, Theodore Dean "Ted" Loefler Brown and Frances Brown-Wolf, David was preceded in death by his stepfather, Frederick E. Wolf. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Carol A. (Middleton) Brown; children, Michelle (Anthony) Tebary; Brian (Patti) Brown and Jennifer (Joe) Shamy; grandchildren, Gregory and Daniel Hall; Michael Tebary and Madeline Shamy and many dear friends and "fishing buddies".
The family will receive guests Wednesday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Jim Wicker, of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Sylvania. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or the Old Newsboys Good Fellows Association.
The Brown family would like to thank the nurses, aides and social workers at Heartland Hospice and Fr. Mark Hodges, of St. Stephen Orthodox Mission of Lima, for their loving care, support and good humor. David enjoyed the laughs.
