David Alton Hoyt

David A. Hoyt passed away, in his home, on February 2, 2022 at the age of 63 after a long battle with cancer. He was with his loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Dave, as he was known, was born in Toledo, Ohio, to Byron and Betty Hoyt on July 8, 1958.
He attended Whitmer High School and was employed with New Mather Metals for 29 1/2 years.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Dave. He loved watching dirt car races at Oak Shade Race Track. He enjoyed being on the water in his boat and tinkering with engines in his garage. But mostly he loved spending time with his children whom he was most proud of.
Dave was preceded in death by his father, Byron, and his faithful companion, Hershey. Dave is survived by his devoted children, Amanda (Stephen) Gongora and Mark (Nicole) Hoyt; mother, Betty Hoyt; siblings, William (Kim) Parker, Diane (Kenneth) Alcorn, Thomas (Kristen) Hoyt, Bernice (Dan) Davis, and Jeffery (Nichol) Hoyt; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Dave's children would like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the excellent care of their father at the end of his life. At Dave's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
