David T. Hernandez

David T. Hernandez, age 66, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Mercy St. Vincent Hospital. He was born on March 18, 1955 to Enrique and Olga (Hernandez) Martinez in Toledo, OH. David attended Woodward High School. He worked for Conrail for many years before retiring. After retiring David owned and operated Dave's Home Improvement where he remodeled residential homes for almost 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, was a jack of all trades, and loved classic cars. David looked forward to spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters. His smile, sense of humor, wit, spirit and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

David is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Pansy Hernandez; daughter, Olga Hernandez; granddaughters, Caris and Cailey Watson; parents, Henry and Olga Martinez; siblings, Raymond Dominguez, Carmen Vieyra, Henry (Chris) Martinez, Alice Sanchez, Daniel Martinez, Sylvia Martinez-Reyes, Vincent Martinez, and Christine Martinez; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandson, David Hernandez-Watson; grandfather, Antonio Hernandez; cousin, Ricky Torres; and sister-in-law, Gina Martinez;

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery.
