David Charles Luettke, 83, of Sylvania passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, Tuesday August 24th in his home, after a long battle with cancer. He was born March 3rd, 1927 to John and Abbie (Kreft) Luettke in Toledo, Ohio. David married the love of his life Anna Mae (Pierce) in 1946. He retired as a Plant Manager for Allied Chemical Corp. nearly 30 years ago. During his retirement David spent many happy years in Florida and pursued his passion of "RVing". He and his wife Anna Mae traveled all over the country in their RV. David was also an avid bridge player and had become a life master. He was a Free Mason and a member of Harbor Light Lodge and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo. David was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran serving his country proudly. He was also a member of American Legion Post #0888.
In addition to his parents David was preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Anna Mae (Pierce) Luettke; daughters; Ruth Luettke and Linda (Bill) Seal, grandchildren; Angela, Christine and Stacy Luettke, Bill Seal III and Terri (Andy) Seal-Roth; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Kiefer and Donna Schell; sisters-in-law; Margie Smith and Barbara (Ernie) Lindsay and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive guests Friday from 2-7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with Services beginning at 7:00 p.m.
