David John Caughorn

David John Caughorn age 75, of Maumee, Ohio passed away, surrounded by his family, on April 17, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born in Toledo on December 29, 1949, to Glenn and Margaret Caughorn.

Dave served his country in the U.S. Army and served 2 tours in Vietnam. Following his military service, he spent many years as a Truck Driver. After retiring from driving, he joined the Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club-Toledo Chapter in 2006 and became club president in 2008 until his retirement. Dave and Donna enjoyed many activities while in the club and cherish the friendships they still have today.

Dave spent his best days riding his Harley with Donna and friends, watching NASCAR races, and his favorite past-time; being with his family. Dave loved his family and everyone he loved knew he would be there for them and do anything for them. He will be remembered for his fun-loving ways, his silly sense of humor, and his love for his family and friends.

Dave is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Michael (Amy) Busse, David (Jennifer) Caughorn Jr., Chad (Delia) Caughorn, Stacie (Mario) Moreno and Sarah (Jesse) Moya. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and his canine companion, Max.

Family and friends will be received at the Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 3:00-7:00 PM. A service to celebrate Dave’s life will immediately follow visitation at 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. As Dave would want it, please dress casually.
