David J. Gallup

Dave Gallup passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born December 28, 1955, to James and Jean (Konz) Gallup. Dave attended Bedford High School, graduating in the class of “74”.

Dave was employed throughout his years in the electrical field as a warehouse manager, purchasing agent at LE Myers, Lake Erie Electric, Advantage Electric and ended his career at Northwest Electrical Contracting. 

In his younger years, he enjoyed playing golf, bowling, camping and was a lifelong fan of University of Michigan football. He also enjoyed many Caribbean cruises with great friends and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Marty (Rapp) Gallup; his sons, David (Annie) and Nick (Amy); grandchildren, Alexander, Ava, Kensington, Nicholas, and Delaney; sisters, Susan (Leo) and Judy (Dave); and brother, Scot (Donna). He is also survived by his loyal rescue dog companion, Oscar. 

The family will receive guests on Tuesday, August27, 2024 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd, Toledo. Interment will be private at Bedford Memorial Gardens. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Timothy Kasunic and CNP Danielle and the staff at Ohio Living Hospice for their compassionate care during this difficult time.
