Daryl L. Ganger, 63, passed away at Flower Hospital on Saturday, October 3,2015, after a very courageous battle with cancer.
He was born to Leonard and Thelma Ganger on July 20, 1952, in Goshen, Indiana, and graduated from Nappanee High School. He excelled in woodworking in high school. He worked at Camp Amigo, a Mennonite Church Camp, during high school and after high school. He was currently employed at Sunshine, Inc., in Maumee, Ohio, where he worked for over 41 years in maintenance. He and his wife, Bonnie, were avid campers and loved camping in several different states, but mostly at Middlebury KOA, in Middlebury, Indiana. The residents at Sunshine were very dear to Daryl's heart, and he brought the residents much joy by his loving attention to them. Daryl's love of trains took them to many, many railroad museums. Daryl was a long time member of Toledo Mennonite Church.
Daryl is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie, of 37 years. He is also survived by two sisters, Carolyn Barnes (Husband, AI) of Bristol, Indiana, and Pat Ganger of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, plus many nieces
and nephews.
A Memorial Service in celebration of Daryl's life will be held at Toledo Mennonite Church, 5501 Nebraska Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43615, on Thursday, October 8, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., where family and friends will be received from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 Laskey Road, Toledo, is handling arrangements.
