Darlene (Ware) Wilson was born December 4, 1950 in Toledo, Ohio to Vernon and Dorothy Ware. She passed away peacefully on October 28, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio on Detroit Ave.
Darlene was a member of the West English Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Toledo, Ohio. She was hard-working, diligent and generous. She will be greatly missed.
She attended Spencer Sharples and Scott High Schools; The Toledo School of Practical Nursing and The University of Toledo. Among her varied professional endeavors, Darlene worked for the U.S. Postal Service, Model Cities Counseling Services, and Cousino Construction Company in Toledo; The Belair Convalsearium, The University of Maryland School of Social Work and the Muscular Dystrophy Association in Baltimore, MD. Her last working experience, which she treasured, was for BP-Husky Refinery in Toledo. Darlene's most important and privileged work, and what brought her the most joy, was the service she performed as a baptized Witnesses of Jehovah for over 30 years, and raising her two sons.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, mother, aunts, Carsino Thomas and Phyllis Riley, and uncle John Riley. She is survived by her husband, Elbert Wilson (Baltimore, MD), sons, Demond Wilson and Edmond Burley, father, Vernon (Frieson) Ware, sister Anetta Ware, aunt Berita Nalls, uncle, Alexander (Joyce) Nalls, and niece, Connie L. Ware and a host of cousins; spiritual daughters, Anita Cramer and Joan Whaley, and special friends, Mike and Carol Peabody, Deidre Smith (Harvey Oliver) and Anthony Harris and Family.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving attention and care to Darlene and her family; and to BP-Husky Refinery Company and her co-workers who showed extraordinary kindness during the most difficult time of her life. Special thanks also to our wonderful spiritual family in several Congregations who prayed for us, called, visited and sent flowers and cards to Darlene, (each card she read with appreciation).
Visitation for Darlene will be Friday, November 2, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). A Memorial Service will be conducted on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 139 Richards Road, in Toledo with Brother Ed Ziemann, officiating.
