Darl E. Bordner, Sr.

Darl E. "Sonny" Bordner, Jr., age 70, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Monday, May 13, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 29, 1942 to Darl Sr. and Edith (Langloise) Bordner in Toledo. Sonny worked as a mechanic and body man for many years. He was employed with Weissenberger Chevrolet and helped his buddy Steve at the garage. Sonny enjoyed fishing, bowling and had a great sense of humor. He loved nothing more than the time spent with his family and friends. Sonny will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue Bordner; brother, Raymond Bordner; and cousin, Ed Langloise. Sonny is survived by his loving daughter, Barbie Steinhoff; son, Darl (Shelley) Czerniejewski; grandchildren, Kenny, Katerina, Danielle, Trinity, Kyle (Robbie) and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Brey, Brin and Colton; sisters, Sue (Larry) Snuggs and Beverly (Charlie) Gase; sisters-in-law, Angelena (James) Carlisle and Kathy Huff; special friend, Evelyn Jendrzejak; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Friday from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
