Danny Lee McCrum, Sr., age 60, of Toledo, Ohio entered his eternal home on Saturday, March 14, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Danny graduated from Sylvania High School in 1972. He enlisted in the United States Army from 1972-1975 during the Vietnam War. Upon his returning home, Danny started working for Fiat Chrysler LLC (former Toledo Jeep) for 30 ½ years retiring in June 2007.
On December 28, 1991, Danny and Debby (Shepard) McCrum started a new chapter in his life. The most cherished job Danny ever had was becoming a father to 5 wonderful children, and grandfather to 4 grandsons and one granddaughter.
Leaving behind to cherish his loving memory is his wife, Debby McCrum; children, Michelle (Adam) Dunham, Richard McCrum, Jonathon A. (Brandi Prather) McCrum, and Crystal McCrum; grandchildren, Austin Dunham, Evan Dunham, Owen Dunham, Layla Myers and Braylon McCrum; and brother, Michael (Betty) McCrum; also numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death and welcoming him home are his parents, Harry and Marge McCrum; son, Danny Lee McCrum, Jr.; grandson, Seth Parker Vargas-McCrum and brothers, Robert, Richard and David McCrum.
The family will receive guests Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 11:30 am. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to ProMedica Hospice or Hope United Methodist Church in Danny's memory.
A very large thank you to ProMedica Hospice and ProMedica Home Health Care for their love, concerns and care they provided to Danny and our family. A special thank you to his nurses Melissa and Trina, aides, Pam and Ashley; you are truly angels in our family's heart. These girls went beyond any care we could have asked for.
