Danita Catrice Williams best known as "Trice", age 45, of Toledo, transitioned from her earthly home on Monday, May 10, 2021 at her home. Danita was born May 20, 1975 in Shelby, Mississippi to Elvie and Joyce (Trotter) Williams.
Danita was preceded in death by her father, Elive "Dunnie" Williams in 2020.
She is survived by her mother, Joyce Williams; children, Daliyah, D'Amante, Dalazia, Daichun, and Daichyn Stewart; grandchildren, Dre'Mon, Dralyn My'Lazia and Dre'Ciyon Stewart, and Ah'Mazyn Adams; siblings, Elvie A. Williams, III and Donna (Willie) Johnson; grandmother, Ora L. Trotter; significant other, Rodney Stewart; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
She devoted her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized in Toledo at First Church of God, under the leadership of Bishop Robert A. Culp. Danita was a 1993 graduate of Scott High School and then attended the University of Toledo and Owens Community College, where she studied computer engineering.
She had a passion for poetry and music, even singing with many gospel groups in her teen years. Her favorite musical gospel artists were John P. Kee, Yolanda Adams, Mary Mary, Kirk Franklin, and Donnie McClurkin.
Danita was always taking care of those around her especially her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
The family will receive guests Friday, May 21, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Service will be held on Friday promptly at 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Joyce Williams in Danita's memory.
