Daniel R. Zywocki, age 66, of Toledo, passed away July 19, 2016. He was born August 27, 1949 to Stanley and Mary (Gargas) Zywocki. Daniel was employed with Libbey Owens Ford for more than 31 years as a Journeyman Millwright. Upon retiring, Daniel took his hobby of clock repair to Mitchell's Clock Shop. Daniel was an 11 year assistant scout master and board member for Boy Scout Troop 167, Metamora, Ohio. He has been a member of the Merickel-Farley Trout Club for 16 years, and was their current vice-president. Daniel was a lifetime member of the Michigan Trout Unlimited Ann Arbor Chapter, member of the North Branch Boys Fly Fishers, and an 18 year instructor at TUFFS Fly Fishing School. He spent many years scuba diving with the Toledo Submariners Scuba Club. Above all this, Daniel was a beloved "Dzia Dzia" that enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Daniel is survived by his children, Carla (Bradley) Zeiter, Laura (Darren) Snodgrass and Greg (Tessa) Zywocki; grandchildren, Arika, Derek and Adam Zeiter, Logan, Levi and Libby Ann Snodgrass and Anna Zywocki; sisters, Rose Marie (Donald) Picott and Virginia Balla. In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Zywocki; granddaughter, Holly Snodgrass and brother-in-law, Joseph Balla.
The family will receive guests Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). The family will also receive guests Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Wolfinger Cemetery, Berkey, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Merickel-Farley Trout Club in Daniel's memory.
