Daniel Brian Podgorski
October 31, 1942 — December 9, 2020
Daniel B. Podgorski, age 78, of Temperance, Michigan, passed away suddenly Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. He was born October 31, 1942 in Toledo to Kasmere Edward and Sophia Marie (Snider) Podgorski. Daniel retired from Dohler Jarvis after 34 years of dedicated service.
He married the love of his life, Bonnie Podorski in January of 1960 and together they raised their 3 wonderful daughters. He and Bonnie were the founders of the "Texas Twirlers", a marching group made up of more than 80 kids from the neighborhood. Over the seven years the group stayed together the Podgorski's coached these talented kids leading them through hundreds of competitions and performances throughout the area. He and Bonnie were also involved with the Greenbelt Coalition in North Toledo.
Daniel was all about family and they meant the world to him. He was a proud & loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Daniel loved life and made each day special, he was always the life of the party. Christmas was one of his favorite holidays and decorating the family home was an event to be remembered. He spent years playing Santa Claus for his family and all the kids in the neighborhood.
Daniel was very artistic and a designer at heart. He enjoyed doing all kinds of home remodels from paint to wallpaper and everything in-between. He also loved Horticulture creating beautiful gardens over the years.
In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Bonnie Podgorski; grandson, Brian Prowant and siblings, Edward, Ron and Robert Podgorski. He is survived by his loving daughters, Sandra (Richard) Rollins, Sherri Houghton and Shelley Fenter; grandchildren, Brandon and Joshua Prowant, Danielle, Jerry and Brianna Amborski and Matthew Tipton; great grandchildren, Laila and Makayla Prowant and Destiny, Jose and Rebecca Lopez.
The family will receive guests Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 3-7:00 pm at Newcomer, Northwest Chapel, 4150 West Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will beginTuesday at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
