Daniel L. Petro

Daniel L. Petro, age 49, of Toledo, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, due to a work-related accident. Born on June 22, 1973 to Frank and Kathleen (Tarka) Petro in Toledo, Dan graduated from E.L. Bowsher High School in 1992, where he distinguished himself as a multi-year varsity baseball and football letterman. He had been employed at Electro Prime for the past 17 years. Dan was a longtime member and Past Commodore of the Toledo Sailing Club (Class of 2022). He was currently serving as a delegate to the Associated Yacht Clubs and was a proud member of the Bay View Yacht Club. He loved boating and being on the water. Dan lit up any room he walked into and was the life of the party. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Dan's smile, spirit and caring nature will never be forgotten by those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his father, Dan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rose Petro; and Esther and Walter Tarka. Left to cherish Dan's memory are his loving wife of 25 years, Amy Petro; canine companion, Chico; mother, Kathy Petro; in-laws, Milton "Pop" and Dawn Ruble; brothers, Robert (Naomi Campbell) Petro, Ronald Petro, and Frank (Jannette Osterhout) Petro; sister-in-law, Shawna (Miles) Balen; special nephew, Benjamin (Lexi) Petro; and several other family members and many dear friends, too many to name.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southwest Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). International Order of the Blue Gavel services will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Funeral Services to immediately follow.
