Daniel Wayne Long

Daniel Wayne Long "Boone", age 56, resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at The Toledo Hospital. He was born on March 5, 1965, in Anchorage, Alaska, to the late Richard and Carole (Claborn) Long.

Daniel is a Swanton High School graduate and had worked and owned L & K Auto and Truck Service LLC, where he worked for 20 years, until he bought it 3 ½ years ago. He enjoyed drag racing, where he would work on family race teams, traveling, classic cars, and painting ceramics. A go getter, he was very selfless and would do anything for anyone.

Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving wife, Darlene (Gross) Long, whom he married on April 20, 2016; son, Corey (Leah) Long; step-daughter, Kristiana (Mark) Schimmelfennig; step-son, Anthony (Brittany) Strause; two grandsons, Oliver and Cooper; two brothers, Steve (Jody) Long and Michael (Deanna) Long; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and an uncle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Laurie Long.

Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623, on Monday, November 15, 2021, from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm, where his funeral service will be at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bavarian Sports Club.
