Daniel Allen Drenner

May 28, 1946 — March 11, 2020

Daniel "Dan" Allen Drenner of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at the age of 73 while vacationing with his wife and friends. He was born in Somerset, Pennsylvania on May 28, 1946 to the late Dorothy Parsons and John Drenner.

When he was younger, Dan entered the workforce at a drive-in as a car hop boy. He later joined Ohio Citizens Bank where he worked as a head teller until changing careers. He worked in the composing room at the Toledo Blade for 14 years before taking an early retirement. Dan continued to work in the printing industry at various local print shops until entering full retirement at the age of 62. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye and Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and jumped on the opportunity to coach his two sons and their friends' sports teams during their amateur sports careers. As his sons grew into adulthood and the coaching came to an end, Dan babysat his grandchildren every chance he had, and would always attend their academic or athletic events as well. After retirement, he dabbled in golfing and took yearly fishing trips with his buddies.

Left to cherish Dan's memory is his wife of 52 years, Colleen (Lininger) Drenner; sons, Troy (Jean) Drenner and Dan (Dena) Drenner; grandchildren, Rachael (Derrick Johnson) Drenner, Taylor (Dan Falsetta) Drenner, and Dylan Drenner; great-granddaughter, Elowyn Falsetta; siblings, Johnny, Tommy, Donna, Mary Ann, and Donnie; and many nieces and nephews.

Dan was preceded in death by his daughter, Christie Drenner; brother, Joseph "Joey" Gillespie; and everyone's favorite, Uncle Joe DiMaria.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made out to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or American SIDS Institute.

Due to the present circumstances, services for Dan will be held at a later date.
