Daniel Brackette, Jr. age 73, of Toledo, passed away August 18, 2017 at his home. He was born June 13, 1944 in Linden, Alabama to Daniel and Bessie (Williams) Brackette. Daniel was employed as an Electrical Engineer with Owens Illinois for more than 20 years, and also worked for Monroe Automotive. He was a talented woodworker and was a recipient of seven patents. Daniel was also a magnetics and optical expert. He also served as a Deacon with New Kingdom Baptist Church.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Caroline Brackette; children, Terry (Roxanne) Brackette, Jerry (Trish) Brackette, Kelly (Thomas) Haskell, Kimberly Brackette, Caroline M. Brackette, Jennifer (Jeff) Carevic and Amanda Brackette; 18 grandchildren; 3 great- grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy (Clarence) Mack, Ollie Haskins, Roberta (Harold) Davis, Lois Brackette, Velma Brackette, Martha Ingram, Patricia (Lamont) Brown, John (Lillie) Brackette and Ulysses (Lurnetta) Brackette. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Costello Brackette.
The family will receive guests Friday, August 25, 2017 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Friday at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Daniel's memory.
