Dan R. Preuss

Dan R. Preuss, age 74, formerly Toledo, Ohio, and Fairbanks, Alaska, passed away on December 17, 2021, in Toledo, Ohio. He was born as the oldest son to Fred E. Preuss and Frances E. (Weber) Preuss, who preceded him in death.
After graduating from Whitmer High School in 1966, Dan went to work at Sears and Roebuck. Dan was an amazing artist, who also loved to dance. Dan enjoyed traveling the world.
In the late 1970s, Dan took an interest in martial arts, more specifically, Taekwondo in Toledo. It carried over when Dan and his family moved to Fairbanks, Alaska. In Alaska, Dan found that Taekwondo was his passion. First opening Genesis Martial Arts Supply Company in 1980. Then ultimately opening North Star Taekwondo marital arts school in 1990. Dan was also President of the Alaska Chapter of the Global Tae Kwon Do Federation (GTF).
Left to cherish Dan's memory are his three daughters, Bridget (Brit) Schanks-Lowery of OroValley Arizona, Heidi Preuss of Toledo, Ohio, Hannah Evans (Josh) of Fairbanks, Alaska. His brother, Jeff Preuss (Gloria); his sister, Lynn Belote; four grandsons, four granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; one nephew and three nieces.
In lieu of flowers, please donation to the American Heart Association or the American Kidney Fund.
