Damon Monhollen, age 71, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 28, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo with his loving sister by his side. He was born on August 6, 1942 to Simon and Blanche (Siler) Monhollen. Damon worked in the steel industry for over 25 years before retiring. He enjoyed gardening and anything being outdoors. Damon will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol, 2011. Damon is survived by his siblings, Naomi Winstead, Albert (Sandra) Monhollen and Glenda (Willard) Monhollen; grandchildren, Corey, Patrick and Mia; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio or American Cancer Foundation.
