Curtis O. Rodgers
Curtis O. Rodgers, age 74, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, October 18th, 2009 at Heartland of Waterville Nursing Home. He was born January 16th, 1935 to Cicero and Hautie Lou (Curtis) Rodgers in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Curtis was employed with the St. Regis Paper Company for 33 years and Bock Engineering, retiring at the age of 63. Curtis enjoyed playing Blue Grass and serving as a Deacon at his church, Old Fashioned Missionary Baptist Church. Most importantly, Curtis was a loving and devoted husband, dad and grandpa and cherished the time he was able to spend with his family.
In addition to his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by his sister, Carlene Quillen. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy Mae (Turner) Rodgers; children, Darlene (Robert) Lawson; Dale (Sheri) Rodgers and David (Dina) Rodgers; grandchildren, Robbie (Jennifer); Aaron (Abby); Sarah Beth Lawson; Brandon (Janneka); Allan; Christian; Elliott and Seth Rodgers and Katherine Elizabeth; Olivia Grace Rodgers; Theresa Lawson and J.J.; Ryan and Chelsea; great grandchildren, Aubrey Grace and Caleb Elijah.
The family will receive guests Tuesday from 2-7:00 pm. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with funeral services beginning Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
