Cruz Gonzales

Cruz "PeeWee" Gonzales, age 60, resident of Toledo, Ohio, went to be with his mom and dad, on Monday, February 1, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.


Cruz was a very talented bass player for 40 years and loved Tejano music along with many other genres. He went on camping trips, where he always enjoyed going out fishing, and loved his WWE.

Most of his happy moments were being around his cousins and loved being a tio to all of his nieces and nephews. Cruz was a true friend; he had a huge heart and was always willing to help those he loved. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Those left to forever cherish his memory are his sisters, Irene (Jose) Delgado and Dora Wahl; brothers, David (Christina) Gonzales and Danny Gonzales; fur babies, Paco, Nene, and Max; and numerous other family members.

Cruz was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Matilde (Lopez) Gonzales; son, Johnny Gonzales; brother-in-law, Edward L. Wahl Jr.; sister-in-law, Betty Jo Gonzales; nephew, David Daniel Gonzales; and nieces, Hope Gonzales and Danielle Blake.

Family and friends may gather at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio 43623, on Monday, February 8, 2021, from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
