Cpl. Harold W. Reed was killed in action November 29, 1950 while serving with the 1st Marine Division 7th Marine Regiment 2nd Battalion Fox Company Fox Hill Chosin Reservior, North Korea.
For over 63 years Harold was buried with several hundred unidentified Korean War Veterans at the Punch Bowl Cemetery, Honolulu, Hawaii.
Recent DNA testing has positively identified Harold. A very special thank you to Hattie Johnson, head MIA POW Unit USMC Headquarters and Steven Marsh and First Sergeant Jacobs for their efforts to bring all these Veterans home.
The Marine Corps Honor Guard will provide full Military Honors for Harold Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, 4210 West Central Ave., where Harold will be buried next to his mother, Mildred Reed and sister Millicent Power.
