Corie Lyn Abitua

Corie Lyn Abitua, age 30, passed away on February 10, 2016 at Mercy St. Anne Hospital where she was surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on January 4, 1986 to David and Susan (Zegarlowicz) Abitua in Toledo. Corie attended Whitmer High School and was exceptionally talented artistically. She was a social butterfly who had a wonderful spirit and always gave more to others than herself. Corie loved life, adventure and enjoyed the warmth of the sun and sounds of nature.

Left to cherish her memory are maternal grandparents, Melvin "Dzia Dzia" and Saeko "Oba" Zegarlowicz; paternal grandmother, Francis Abitua; siblings, her twin brothers that were known as her "bubbies," that she always loved and took care of, Darek and Damen (Mariah) Abitua; her sister known as "Piggy Wiggy," Alexis Seibers; nephew, Darek Jr. known as "Handsome"; many aunts "ceocia's," uncles, cousins and a host of dear friends. Preceding her in passing was her cousin, Joshua Billegas and uncle, Robert Abitua.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 from 2-7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
