Consuelo L. Jimenez

Consuelo "Connie" Jimenez, age 84, of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away Friday, October 30th, 2009 at Orchard Villa Nursing Home. She was born January 19th, 1925 to Crispin and Mercedes (Gantan) Lizcano in Newbraunfel, Texas. Connie was a Registered Nurse, working with several area hospitals throughout her career. Connie and her late husband, Servando Jimenez, Sr. were ministers serving for over 25 years. They served with the Pentecostal Holiness church in Chicago Heights, Illinois for several years. She and Servando, Sr. received their instruction from Rev. Amador Contreras and together they formed four churches in Michigan, Texas, and Mexico. Connie loved her church work and also enjoyed crocheting and gardening when time permitted.

In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Servando Jimenez, Sr.; sisters, Dora L. Mendoza and Ma De La Luz Ortiz and son-in-law, Mariano C. Mares. She is survived by her children, Mercedes J. Mares; Alex (Robin) Jimenez; Rafael (Kathy) Jimenez and Servando Jimenez, Jr.; brother, Hector Lizcano; 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins from CA, TX and Mexico and dear friends.

The family will receive guests Tuesday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
