Constance "Connie" Lemmey

Constance F. Lemmey, age 81 passed away Monday, April 5, 2004 in Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home. She was born January 3, 1923 to Edward and Christina (Storey) Fox in Newcastle Upon-the Tynes, England. Connie graduated with a BSN in Nursing and was employed with the State of New York for many years. After moving to Sylvania, Connie volunteered at Flower Hospital. She had a wonderful "New York" sense of humor and cherished visits with her family. Connie enjoyed gardening and watching birds and her dog and cat Foxy and Misty. She was also known to enjoy many games of Scrabble over the years. Connie will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She touched many hearts with her wit and compassion.

In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her cousin, Betty Hamby and great granddaughters, Claire, Melinda and Mary Borell. Connie is survived by her loving children, Liz Lemmey of Colorado; Donald (Jill) Lemmey of Florida; Peggy (John) Borell of Sylvania; Tina (Roy) Hartmann of New York; Steve (Alice) Lemmey of Maryland; Laura (Tom) Fox of Colorado and their father, Ed Lammey; grandchildren, Becca; Steven; Christiana; John; Mark; Dave; Anthony; Christina; Rachel; Grace; James; Kevin; Kelly; Christopher; Aaron and Desiree and numerous great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Connie's friends Valerie Daley and Suzy Mandore for all their love and attention to Connie's needs. They would also like to express appreciation to the Staff of Ridgewood Manor for their compassionate care while Connie was a resident there.

The family will receive guests Wednesday and Thursday from 6-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 7000 Erie St., Sylvania, Ohio. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
