Clurie L. Arnett, age 89, passed away Friday, March 16, 2012 at Sunset Village in Sylvania. He was born on November 6, 1922 to George W. and Mary Magdalene (Frazier) Arnett in Boles, Kentucky. Clurie proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from Champion Spark Plug after 37 years of service. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family, making ships and miniature furniture out of pop cans, feeding the birds and squirrels and tinkering in his garage.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Anita (John) Pryjda, Freda (Jim) Pollauf, Rita (Rick) Spitulski and Keith (Missy) Arnett; siblings, Irene Adcox, Iva (Joe) Krebs and Dewey (Mary) Arnett; grandchildren, Amy Gallagher, Jeremy (Katie) Spitulski, Adam Pollauf, Sarah Spitulski and B.J. Miller and great-grandchildren, Kierstin Havreberg and Brandon Havreberg and a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Clurie was preceded in death by his loving wife, Louise Arnett; brothers, Cecil Arnett, Denas Arnett and Robert Arnett; son, David Arnett; granddaughter, Jennifer Spitulski and loyal companions, Tyler and Fluffy.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Andy Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
