Clinton W. "Clint" Cooper. age 59 of Toledo passed away peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 26, 1951 to Elbert and Lena (Gunter) Cooper in Jamestown, Tennessee. Clint retired from GM Powertrain after 30 years of service. He was also a member of the UAW Local 14. During his spare time Clint enjoyed attending races at Raceway Park and trying his luck at MGM Casino in Detroit. His family will remember him for his wonderful personality, his ability to make others laugh and how he never gave up hope for the Dallas Cowboys. He will be dearly missed by those who loved him.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 25 years, Sylvia Lee (Burgess) Cooper; children, Angela Jones, Rachel (Paul) Diggs, Jennifer (Vince) Ventrone; step-daughters, Debbie Fisher and Lauran Tribble; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren plus one on the way; siblings, Beulah Hardwick, Brenda Cravens, Barbara Compton, Belinda Fellenstein and special friend, Johnny Taylor. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death is his siblings, Cletis, Carl, Carlis, Bessie, Bonnie, Betty and Belvajean.
The family will receive guests Sunday from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home Monday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family would like to specially thank Rodney and Barbie Conner for the hospitality and kindness that was given to Clint and his family during his time of illness. To say thank you for your care and support does not seem to be enough. Also to the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio and to Dr. Sachs and his staff at the Toledo Clinic for the diligent care they provided.
