Max Kellar, age 72, of Toledo, passed away Monday, December 26th, 2011 at Foundation Park. He was born February 24th, 1939 to Freeman and Purvie (Spencer) Kellar in Kessler Cross Lane, West Virginia. Max was a U.S. Veteran serving in both the Marine Corps and the Navy. He retired from Johnson Controls in 2005 after 24 years of service. Max was also a carpenter for many years and truly enjoyed his craft. He was a hard worker and took pride in everything he did. Max was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and treasured the time spent with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepdaughter Crystal Reau; several siblings and brothers-in-law, Keith and Kenneth Rowe. Max is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Anna "Ginger" Kellar; son, Christopher Kellar; stepson, Ken (Anita) Boose; grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Lucas, Micah and Abbigail Boose; siblings, Lane (Kaye) Kellar, Reta (Butch) Hall and Verne "Sis" (Ron) Harrison; in-laws, Mike and Linda Fisher and Debbie Gruehler and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
The family will receive guests Saturday from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900) where a Memorial Service will begin Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Officiating will be Ted Fisher.
