Christopher Krum, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on January 4 2025, at the age of 72. He was born on October 12, 1952, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Raymond and Chessy (Katafias) Krum.
As a graduate of Roy C. Start High School, class of 1971, Chris carried the lessons of his education throughout his life. He cultivated friendships and connections wherever he went, earning the respect and admiration of those around him. Chris was a dedicated member of the Eagles 197, where he found camaraderie and joy among fellow members.
Chris' career spanned many years and diverse roles. He began his journey at Food Town and then devoted three decades to Jeep, a company he was proud to be part of. Afterward, he transitioned to Bedford Hills Golf Course, where he spent twenty years sharing his passion for the sport in a setting he cherished. His commitment to his work extended beyond mere career; he was also an integral part of his family business, Mama's Kitchen, where he spent 13 fulfilling years supporting his wife and connecting with the community through food and warmth.
Chris had many passions that painted his life with vibrant colors. He loved golfing, exploring the greens and feeling the sun on his face as he spent time outdoors. He was an avid bowler and had a love for football and baseball, always cheering passionately for his favorite teams-the Detroit Tigers, Pittsburgh Steelers, and San Francisco 49ers. Chris was also known for his enjoyment of the thrill of the casinos, especially the excitement of the slot machines. His playful spirit extended to dart ball, where he embraced friendly competition with enthusiasm and laughter.
Throughout his life, Christopher was not just an employee, a business owner, or a sports enthusiast; he was a loving presence in the lives of his friends and family. His warmth, humor, and kindness resonated with all who knew him. His legacy will live on in the countless moments shared and the memories created. As we remember Chris, we cherish a life well-lived, a spirit that inspired, and a heart that will always hold a special place in our minds and souls.
Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving wife, Michelle (Dukeshire) Krum, whom he married on June 9, 1986; children, Christian and Lisa (Sean) Henderson; grandson, Devin Lee; siblings, Barb Faylo and Joe (Jeri) Krum; sister-in-law, Cheryl “Ziggy” (Rick) Zattau; nieces, Heather (Isaac) Wendt, Carrie Krum (Austin), and Corrin (Conner) Jacob; and furry companion, Molly.
In addition to his parents, Chris was preceded in death by his siblings, Gloria (Bob) Huntley and Jim Krum; and mother-in-law, Donna (Russell) Cox.
