Christine M. Staebell

Christine M. Staebell, age 73, of Toledo, passed away January 16, 2024 at Otterbein Sunset House. She was born October 20, 1950 in Toledo to James and Mary (Schulz) Staebell. Christine graduated from McAuley High School in 1967. After high school, Christine went to work for Bob Eddy Buick as a Bookkeeper. She became a certified Dental Assistant for several Dental Practices over the years. Christine enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, reading the Bible, loved music, dancing and going to many concerts. Over the last few years she took part in the various activities at Sunset House, especially enjoyed playing bingo, arts and crafts, taking long walks at the local Metroparks, yoga and attending church services. Most of all, Christine loved spending time with her grandchildren and their activities.

In addition to her parents, Christine was also preceded in death by siblings, Deborah and Gregory Staebell. She is survived by her children, Jennifer Caliri, Beth Simpkins and Mark (Aimee) Simpkins; grandchildren, Sophia, Oliver, Mason, Taylor and Benjamin; siblings, Carole Stauffer, James Staebell, Gary Staebell, Diane (John) Pietrowski and Martin (Shelly) Staebell; many nieces and nephews; and life-long friend, Carol Wagner.

The family will receive guests Monday, January 22, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Monday at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Waterville, Ohio .

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Alzheimer's Association in Christine's memory.
