Christine R. Zeisloft, age 82, a lifelong resident of Toledo, passed away Monday, November 21st, 2011 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 17th, 1928 to Mathias and Christine (Fischer) Haring in Toledo, Ohio. Having lost her mother as an infant, Christine was raised by her very special aunt Louise for the first 4 years of her life. She was a graduate of Woodward High School, Class of 1947. Christine and Wayne Zeisloft were married in April of 1950 and together they raised 3 children. She served as a Troop Leader with the Girl Scouts and also volunteered her time as a chaperone for the Marilynettes, a baton and drum corps for many years. Christine was employed with the former Katy Steel and Aluminum Company as a secretary for 10 years. She was a proud 60 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and also enjoyed being a member of the Start Sideliners. Christine was an avid reader, enjoying a variety of authors. More recently she looked forward to her high school Class Reunions. Christine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and treasured the time spent with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wayne Zeisloft and her aunt and uncle, Louise and Chris Kuechenmeister. Christine is survived by her loving children, Susan (Joseph) Benning of Kitts Hill, OH, Dennis (Deborah Kopka) Zeisloft of Perrysburg, OH and Sharon (John) Mason of Sylvania, OH; grandchildren, Matthew (Katie), Christopher (Laura), Nicholas, Mindy, Melissa (Brandon) and Molly and great grandsons, Lucas and Landon.
The family will receive guests Friday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
