Chester J. Malaczewski

Chester J. "Chet" Malaczewski, age 81, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008. He was born on January 31, 1927 to Jacob and Teresa Malaczewski. Chet was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country proudly during WWII. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Chet was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. His greatest love was his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma, brother, John and sister, Nellie. Chet is survived by his children, Kathy (Larry) Wozniak, Joe (Lori), Pat, Bob (Jenny) and David (Cindy); grandchildren, Josh, Jamie, Andrew, Mikaela, Kristi (Justin), Bobby (Jeni), Steve, Chelsey, Alexa and Haley; great-granddaughter, Rylee; sister, Stephanie Kurdys; special niece, Christine Kurdys; and many other family members and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Monday from 2 – 7:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Monday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Fr. James Auth.
