Chester Grzybowski

Chester C. Grzybowski, age 91, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 5, 2013 surrounded by his loving family at Ridgewood Manor. He was born June 24, 1921 in Toledo to Kazmierz and Helen Grzybowski. Chet worked in Shipping and Receiving at the former Gerity-Schultz for over 40 years. He enjoyed woodworking, creating coaster sets, working in his garden, making his Sunday dinners and being known as a "handy-man" to all. Most recently Chet was a parishioner of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church. Chet's greatest love was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving daughters, Barb (Jim Gray) Dixon, Helen (Paul) Raczkowski and Mary Jean (Roger, Jr.) Krueger; grandchildren, Diana (Paul) Kemp, Susan Kaiser, Paulette (Dave) Baz, Eric (Diana) Allen, Jim (Amy) Raczkowski and Tony (Rachel) Allen; great-grandchildren, Brad, Alyssa, Breanna, Sara, Alexis, Bryan Jr., Scott, Ethan, Kaedon, Kaiya, Nicholas and Paul; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Chet was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor; daughter, Ruth Allen; son-in-law, David Dixon; siblings, Alex, Bill, Stanley and Sophie.

Special thank you to the staff at Ridgewood Manor and Senior Independence Hospice for the loving care they extended to Chet.

The family will receive guests Friday, March 8, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900) where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

The family requests memorial contributions to St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church or Senior Independence Hospice.
