Cherlynn Renee Toadvin-Webb

September 30, 1957 — August 3, 2021

Cherl received her "Servant Wings" on Tuesday evening, August 3 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio (Toledo). She was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in October of 2020 and passed away suddenly from therapeutic complications. Cherl was born on September 30, 1957 in Toledo, OH to Stewart and Margaret Toadvin. She confessed to Christ at an early age and was a member of the Inspirational Missionary Baptist Church. She served at IMBC as Choir Director, Church Mother, Church Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher, and Custodian.

In her youth, Cherl attended Birmingham Elementary where in her later years was elected to the Birmingham Hall of Fame. She graduated from Waite High School in 1975 and was nominated the Black History Queen. She ran track and danced with the "Waite Indian-ettes" during half-time (where Oscar stalked her). In the summers, she worked at the Lucas County Public Library as an aide (where Oscar stalked her). She was employed by the Law Offices of Simmons-McConnel and Peters as a legal secretary in 1976 and attended the University of Toledo, majoring in Education. Cherl married Oscar Webb, Jr. on July 30, 1977 (no more stalking). Just four weeks after her brother, Bruce's untimely death while deployed at Fort Knox, Ky.

Cherl joined Owens-Illinois Glass PPS at the Dura-Glass Center in 1978 as a Statistical Secretary where she met her life-long best friend, Phyllis Cresswell. Thru increasingly responsible positions, she worked at the Owens-Illinois Tech Center where she met Judith Poad completing the best friend trifecta of CPJ (Cherl, Phyllis, & Judy). Cherl moved on from Owens-Illinois to Harbor Capital Advisors, Inc. (HCA, an O-I subsidiary for mutual funds). At HCA, she was eventually hired into the Human Resources department where she was identified as high potential. Cherl became the first Black Vice President at HCA under the leadership of her mentor, Dave VanHooser, CEO.

In 2009, HCA went on to relocate to Chicago, but Cherl decided to stay in Toledo because this city was her home. She was afforded the opportunity to become an associate of Welltower (formerly Healthcare REIT). She was employed by Welltower until her departure. Cherl really loved the Dorr and Richards Campus, loved Welltower Senior Management, and especially her HR team.

Cherl is preceded in death by her father Stewart, half-sister Pamela, and brother, Bruce. She is survived by loving cousins and friends, her mother Margaret, sister, Andrea Moore (Craig), husband Oscar, and her sons Weston and Brenton.

The family will receive guests Monday, August 9, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
