Charlotte May (Weatherford) Bomar, age 89, of Toledo, Ohio passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at St. Anne's Mercy Hospital. She was born February 7, 1932 in Toledo to Dana and Ivy (Eccleston) Weatherford. Charlotte was a 1950 graduate of Whitmer High School. She married her high school sweetheart Samuel D. Bomar on July 1, 1950 and together they raised their son and daughter.
Charlotte and Samuel enjoyed traveling with their children on family vacations to California, North Carolina and Florida, visiting family and friends. In their later years they were members of a motor home club. Charlotte was an avid bowler involved in leagues at Ottawa Lanes and the former Avalon Lanes. She enjoyed competing in several State events with teammates bringing home many awards.
Charlotte worked with Washington Local Schools in the cafeteria for more than 15 years. She was a longtime member of the Whitmer Alumni Club, attending monthly alumni luncheons and class reunions through the years.
Charlotte was a loving wife, mother and grandmother cherishing time spent with family and friends. One of her favorite pastimes was watching sporting events of all kinds. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren when they were involved with school activities and sports. She made it to 100's of games and competitions over the years.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte was also preceded in death by her siblings, Otto "Babe" Karow and Lucile Graham. She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Samuel D. Bomar; son, David (Linda) Bomar of Dallas, GA and daughter, Beverly (Gary) Durham of Ottawa Lake, MI; grandchildren, Matt Durham, Jamie (fiancé Ashley) Durham, Brad (Michele) Bomar, Sara (Richard) Dunn and Andrew (Laisa) Bomar; great grandchildren, Ty Durham, Reylin Durham, Sydney Durham, Brady Durham, Eli Durham, Jack Dunn, Marley Dunn, Taylor Dunn, Max Bomar and Leo Bomar; great-great grandchild, Mason Johnson and sister, Leatrice Rawson.
There will be a Private Graveside Service. Interment will be at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, Toledo, Ohio.
