Charles F. Wilkins

Charles F. "Charlie" Wilkins, age 84, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021 at home. He was born on October 23, 1936 to Charles W. and Margaret Wilkins in Toledo. Charlie was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving his country proudly. He was a Toledo Firefighter retiring after 30 years of dedicated service. Charlie was a member of the Zenobia Shrine and the Free Masons for many years. He was big in his faith and loved the Lord. Charlie loved the outdoors, golfing, hunting, fishing and camping with his family throughout the years. He liked reading and doing puzzles in his spare time. Charlie was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, the New York Yankees, and the Miami Dolphins. Most important to him was his family; he loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events and treasured time being at family functions. His smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, William Hay; his loving wife of 49 years, Marilyn Wilkins; and nephew, Paul Wilkins. Left to cherish Charlie's memory are his loving children, Michael Wilkins, Robin (Joe) Maran, Terri (Dan) Wohn, Deborah (Chuck) Lambert, Donald (Greg) Wilkins and Jean (Joe) Davila; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ted (Alice) Davidson, Bill Wilkins, Marilyn (Paul) DeCello and Louise (Jerry) Clark; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 4 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with a Last Alarm Service at 7:00 p.m. in the evening. Funeral Services will begin on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
