Charles W. Orns

Charles W. Orns, age 65, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2009 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center with his family at his side. He was born May 3, 1943 to Foster and Ruth (Gilbert) Orns in Toledo. Charles was employed with ABF Freight Systems for more than 30 years and a member of Toledo Transportation Club. Charles was an avid race car fan and enjoyed collecting trucks and fishing with his sons. Most importantly he was a loving husband, father and grandfather and cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Peggy (Clark) Orns; sons, Charles (Toni) Orns; Matthew (Diana) Orns and Christopher (Kristin) Orns; 8 grandchildren; sister, Sharon (Richard) Guest; brother, Foster Orns; and many dear friends.

The family will receive guests Monday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Heritage Church of God, 3520 Strayer Rd., Maumee. Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Officiating will be Pastor Robert L. Fry. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
