Charles T. "Chuck" Vancs, Jr., age 41, of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, July 23, 2016 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 28, 1975 to Charles Sr. and Dawn (Knerien) Vancs in Elyria, Ohio. Chuck graduated from Elyria West High School in 1993. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers. Chuck loved hanging out with his friends playing RPG games and video games. He was a very devoted and loyal friend to many, who will deeply miss him. Chuck was a huge animal lover, especially of his dogs and his snakes. He loved his family and picking on them, something they will miss forever.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Andrew and sister, Jennifer Vancs; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Mate; step-grandfather, Andrew Mate; paternal grandfather, Leon Vancs; maternal grandfather, David Knerien, Sr.. Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Rebecca; 7 fur babies, Lily, Seranda, Mathias, Chloe, Viktar, Dmitri and Annushka; 7 damn snakes; parents, Charles "Charlie" and Dawn Vancs, Sr.; sister, Jolynn (Jason Gallup) Jones; nieces and nephews, Katie, Dominique, Kyleigh and Brandon; maternal grandmother, Ruth Knerien; mother-in-law, Linda and Jerry Ashenfelter; sister-in-law, Tonya (Scott) Edgar; niece, Morgan; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Thursday from 3 – 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Memorial Services beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
