Charles E. "Chuck" Skeldon, Jr. age 86, of Toledo, passed away October 25, 2021 at his home. He was born June 19, 1935 in Toledo to Charles E. Skeldon and Mary Butler-Sauppe. Chuck was employed with Libbey Owens Ford for 33 years retiring in 1988. Upon retiring, Chuck was the head custodian at Mayfair-Plymouth Church for 28 years. He sang with the Barbershoppers for 50 years and was named Barbershopper of the year in 1973 and member of their Hall of Fame. Chuck was an avid Ohio State Buckeye and Cleveland Indians fan. He was a very talented wood craftsman. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, Chuck will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Chuck was also preceded in death by his siblings, Graham Skeldon and Sally Vollmar. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Shirley (Finnegan) Skeldon; son, Charles Timothy (Stacy) Skeldon, daughter, Cindy Skeldon; grandchildren, Heather Renee Dobbins, Craig (Jessica) Carder and Brandon (Hilary) Bursztynski; great-grandchildren, Maurice Cochran, Sade Dobbins, Vincent Riley, Charlie Carder and Steven Carder.
The family will receive guests Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (4119-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
