Charles Runkle

Charles F. Runkle, age 88, passed away Thursday, March 11th, 2010 at his home. He was born October 20th, 1921 to George and Carrie (Ruitz) Runkle in Toledo, Ohio. Charlie was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a recipient of a Purple Heart. He was employed with General Mills, retiring after 30 years of service. Charlie was a member of the American Legion, the Eagles #197 and St. Lukes Lutheran Church, Temperance, Michigan and also the General Mills Retirees Group.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Eileen C. (Weiler) Runkle; children, Karen "Kitty" (Steve) Andrews; George (Kathy) Runkle; Cynthia (Rich) Jones; Charles (Chari) Kloos: Russell (Kathy) Runkle; Cherie (Dave) Kolar and Patricia "Patti" (Carl) Church and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will receive guests Sunday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
