Charles R. Baker died July 20, 2014, one day shy of his 90th birthday. He was married to Marelda "Dee" Baker for 62 years before her passing away in 2009.
Charles leaves behind 3 children, Charles P. (wife, Karen), Carol Baker and Ralph (wife, Heather); his precious grandchildren, Karla (Dave) Rison, Kimberly (fiancée, Tony Grice) Baker, Clark (Emily) Baker, Jessica, Josiah and Andrew Baker; his great-grandchildren, David Charles, Faith and Hope Rison, Chloe and Connor Baker. Charles R. was the last sibling with 2 brothers and 3 sisters who all preceded him in death.
Charles was in the Marine Air Corps in World War II. He earned the Distinguished Flying Cross. Charles had the opportunity to make his Honor Flight with his oldest son. Charles was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church and an active member of Adams Township American Legion Post 553. He worked for Toledo Jeep for 45 years. Charles was a humble man who made himself available to others all of his life. He will be dearly missed.
The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 915 N. Reynolds Rd., Toledo.
