Charles R. Nerswig, age 80, resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 18, 1941, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Charles and Helen Nerswig.
Charles proudly served in the Unites States Army for 6 years and was a member of the Ohio Air National Guard, 180th Fighter Wing, for 22 years. While serving his country, he worked at Doehler-Jarvis for 30 plus years. Charles was also an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
He will forever be missed by his loving wife, Barbara (Kothe) Nerswig, whom he married on August 30, 2003; children, Jim Nerswig, Shelly Potridge, and Ileen (John) Manders; grandchildren, Marijanna Brunn, Emily Brunn, Emily Potridge, Eric (Brittany) Widney, and June Vangeon; great grandchild, Willow Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may gather at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio, 43623, on Sunday, August 8, 2021, from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, August 9, 2021, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3934 W. Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio, 43623, from 10:00 am – 11:30 am, where funeral services will take place at 11:30 am, with Pastor Bradford E. Scott officiating.
