Charles J. "Chuck" Imber, Sr., age 77, of Toledo, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born on April 25, 1936 to Charles and Eleanore (Donohue) Imber in Toledo, OH. Chuck attended Central Catholic High School and following high school he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and proudly served during the Korean War. He went to work for Dana Corp and retired after 33 years of service. A favorite past time of Chuck's was bowling, he often bowled in various leagues and he also enjoyed playing softball. He coached his children's little league baseball team, was a devoted Detroit Tiger's and Ohio State Buckeye fan and liked to go fishing when time allowed. It didn't matter where Chuck was going, if he could drive, he would drive no matter how far or long the trips may or not have been. Chuck was a former member of Regina Coeli church for many years.
He was a loving and supportive father. It was important to Chuck to be involved with his children's lives as they were growing up. Chuck loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were his pride and joy.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 58 years, Barb (Lee) Imber; children, Charles J. "Chuck" Imber, Jr., Allen (Sandy) Imber, Angela (Ray) Reed and Gregory Imber; grandchildren, Matthew, Hannah and Savannah Imber, Nicole (Joshua) Barnett, Timothy (Kim), Wesley, Aaron and Joshua Imber; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Lydia Barnett; brother, Raymond (Jacquline) LeBlanc;three nieces and many cousins. In addition to his parents, he joined his recently deceased grandson in Heaven, Chandler D. Reed.
The family will receive guests for a Memorial Service on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Clement Parish, 3030 Tremainsville Rd. Fr. James Auth officiating.
Following the Memorial Service for Chuck, friends are invited to join the family for a fellowship luncheon at Regina Coeli Church - Kotz Hall, 600 Regina Parkway (Off of Alexis Rd. near Bennett) at Noon on Friday, April 11, 2014.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Chuck's family would like to specially thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the diligent care and love they provided to him, especially to the nurses, Angel and Kim.
