Charles B. Ivory, age 84, of Toledo, passed away, Thursday evening, September 10th, 2009 at the Toledo Hospital. He was born July 4th, 1925 to Bruce and Gladys (Luster) Ivory in Corinth, Mississippi. Charles was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran, serving his country proudly through two terms, earning an Honorable Discharge in 1947. He worked for Lee Motors, Stengle Auto Sales and Hatfield Olds, retiring in 1982. With his wife, Callie, they operated a Ivory Group Home together, finally retiring after many years.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Callie (Adams) Ivory in April of this year. He is survived by his devoted daughters, Elizabeth(Terry, Sr.) Lincoln and Cynthia (Leon Smith) Ivory; grandchildren, Marquette (Eric); Nicole and Charles; great grandchildren, Kadin and Marcus; siblings, Annie; Fannie and Oreese, all of Paducah, KY; Mary Alice (Joe) of Houston, TX and Donald (Diane) of Toledo, OH. Charles is also survived by a host of loving family members; including nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests Tuesday from 10-11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300), followed by Funeral Services beginning 11:00 a.m.at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Tony Scott. Interment will follow at Forest Cemetery.
